Trainings

The Environmental Management and Sustainable Development Advanced Training Program is structured as a set of one-week or two-week training sessions.

With each training course concentrating on a specific field of study the training program covers a broad and comprehensive spectrum of topics: Clean Development Mechanism, water and air pollution, waste and water management, energy efficiency and renewable energy, urban sustainable development and eco-building, rural development and natural resources conservation, environmental education.

Since 2003, more than 130 trainings have been organised, involving about 5000 Chinese trainees and more than 450 Italian and international experts on different issues related to Environmental Management and Sustainable Development.

The Training Program is managed in cooperation with the following Chinese institutions:

  • Chinese Academy of Social Sciences: nearly 42 courses, more than 3000 participants

  • Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology: nearly 35 courses, 1100 participants

  • Ministry of Environmental Protection (former SEPA): 16 courses, more than 360 participants

  • Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau: 17 courses, 300 participants

  • Shanghai Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau: 15 courses, more than 350 participants

  • Tianjin Science and Technology Committee: 9 courses, nearly 280 participants

In 2009 the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has joined the Program with two courses on Climate Change.
