Innovation and Sustainability - Project Launch Event

The crisis we are facing is leading to redefine the priorities of our economic systems, taking into account the limits to our development. The growth of firms becomes more and more linked to their capacity to innovate considering the new constraints. In this context the environment plays a key role, not only as a constraint, but primarily as an opportunity for a new development of industry. Innovation and sustainability become the two key goals to combine, reorganizing production and consumption. To innovate in a sustainable way means to improve the entire life cycle of a product, introducing new technologies, as well as to communicate the value of this new production patterns in order to promote sustainable consumption.

The Group of the Treviso Young Entrepreneurs have deeply understood the importance of this new challenge, deciding to promote, in collaboration with Venice International University, the Project on Innovation and Sustainability, to build awareness in this field. The one-year project will involve young entrepreneurs in conferences, site visits and workshops on different topics linked to the development of new production strategies and green marketing, under the scientific supervision of VIU.
The project will be launched during the Annual General Meeting of the Group on March 19, in Treviso, at the presence of dr. Corrado Clini, Director General of the Italian Ministry for the Environment Land and Sea, and will involve the private sector as well as academia representatives to start the dialogue on the topic.
