A New Partner Joins the Sino-Italian Advanced Training Program on Environmental Management and Sustainable Development

In 2009, the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China (NDRC) will join the Sino-Italian Advanced Training Program on Environmental Management and Sustainable Development.

Venice International University will design two Training Courses devoted to Climate Change as requested by NDRC which has recently constituted a new Department for Climate Change Management.
42 participants selected from this newly established department will attend the VIU_IMELS Capacity Building Project in Italy.

NDRC is a macroeconomic management agency under the Chinese State Council, which studies and formulates policies for economic and social development, maintains a balance of economic aggregates and guides the overall economic system restructuring.

Among the functions of NDRC are: the formulation and implementation of strategies for national economic and social development, of annual and long-term plans, industrial policies and price policies; the promotion of the economic system restructuring; the upgrading of the industrial structure, the development of agriculture and rural economy; the formulation of plans for the development of the energy sector; the submission of the plan for national economic and social development to the National People's Congress on behalf of the State Council, in accordance with the Constitution.
