Venice International University on the island of San Servolo is the headquarters of the program. The training courses are structured as a set of two-week modules, including lecturing sessions and site visits in places, institutions and companies of scientific interest.

The training program is completed by visits to Rome and Turin.

In Rome, the Chinese delegations meet representatives of the Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea to discuss the main policies adopted in Italy and in Europe for fostering sustainable development. The department of Environmental Research and Development of IMELS is in charge of the implementation of this key issue.

In Turin, where the trainees are hosted by Agroinnova. Agroinnova organizes at its premises a two-day closing session mainly devoted to Sustainable Agriculture and realizes site visits to places of interest linked to this important issue for Chinese trainees.

The introductory module of the training is held in China, on a one-week schedule organized in collaboration with CASS (Chinese Academy of Social Sciences), MOST (Ministry of Science and Technology of China) and SEPB (Shanghai Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau).
